I’m a believer in helping other people get on the water. And kayak fishing can be a little bit of a challenge right at first. One of the questions I get asked a lot is, “where do you even go?” Hopefully this can help answer that question. I’ve tried to include a few of the more popular launch spots, some are marinas and full-on boat launches, others are public or combat launches. And I’ve tried to label them as accurately to my understanding. Green fish are primarily freshwater, blue are primarily saltwater/inshore locations. If the fish has a dollar sign next to it, it’s a launch with a fee.
I have not fished all of these, but most are popular with kayak anglers. As always, use caution.
And this is a very small collection of launch sites that the state has to offer. To find more, you can join one of Louisiana’s kayak fishing clubs and meet members who will be more than happy to share locations with you. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.
