My name is Eli Braud & I am a kayak angler based in the “sportsman’s paradise” of South Louisiana.
My first experiences fishing happened when I was a kid, though fishing wasn’t something I grew up doing frequently. It wasn’t until my early twenties that the fishing bug really bit me. And as my friends & I were searching for ways to get off the bank and on the water, kayak fishing became an interest. It’s now almost all I think about. It truly is an addiction, but a good one!
The majority of my fishing is inshore for redfish & speckled trout, though I do target bass occasionally, and I enjoy the simplicity of “perch jerking”. And I enjoy helping others learn about kayak fishing any way I can, especially through Pack & Paddle, the store that helped me learn (and continues to teach me).
I have an amazing wife, Tracey, who I thank God for everyday because she puts up with my addiction. And we have an awesome son, Riv, who is just discovering everything for the first time. I can’t wait to take him out for his first fishing trip! I’m also a musician (mainly guitar) and have played in several bands and worship teams.
I’m blessed to be able to do something I love in a somewhat professional sense, and there are several companies that help make that possible for me. Many thanks to them. Pack & Paddle, Jackson Kayak, Werner Paddles, Buggs Fishing, Orion Coolers, FINS Fishing Line, and YakAngler.com!
